My Enterprise Websites are built on the JAM Stack, which stands for JavaScript, API's and Markup.
The end result is a 'static' site, which is faster and more secure than database-driven 'dynamic' websites. This doesn't mean that they can't be edited however, as the power of the JAM Stack is fully realised using Netlify to host the websites, along with NetlifyCMS allowing contend editing to the Markup files.
